It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Debra Higgins Rice (Asheville, North Carolina), who passed away on March 14, 2025, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Collis Higgins and Onie Higgins; and her sister Margaret Kuykendall. She is survived by: her son Aaron Higgins (Jenny); her husband Basil Rice; her grandchildren, Katie, Stone, Jacob and Carter; and her siblings, James Higgins (Linda), Betty Ray (C. L.) and Beulah Wilson. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Cedar Hill Free Will Baptist Church (227 Johnston School Rd, Asheville, NC 28806).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at the celebration of life in Asheville, NC, to support medical expenses and end of life care.
