He was predeceased by: his parents, Loette McKneeley and Simon Wilfred Tompkins; his wife Brenda Tompkins; his siblings, Eleanor Joyner and Johnny Weems; and his son-in-law Charles Mecho.
He is survived by: his sister Claire McDonough; his children, Rosemoon Mecho, Ben Reeves (Amy), Terri Cox (Keith), Prentice Tompkins, Brandi Kirkland (Mike) and Beth Tompkins; his grandchildren, Terra Wallin (Travis), Selena Mecho, Kirstie Reeves, Amanda Bell (Nick), Andrew Cox, Anslee Cox, Naomi Tompkins, Virginia Tompkins, Essie Tompkins, Simon Tompkins, Cuyler Kirkland, Colin Kirkland, Lee Pressley, Tara Pressley and Dillon Pressley; and his great grandchildren, Cassie Pressley, Alexzander Pressley, Bryzin Pressley, Skylar Pressley, Otis Pressley and Holly Pressley.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Roswell Church (710 Mimosa Blvd, Roswell, GA 30075).
In recognition of his significant contributions to the area's growth, Bruce was honored with an award by the City of Asheville for his pivotal role in revitalizing Biltmore Village.
