He was predeceased by: his parents, James Braxton Overton and Flora Honey Overton; his wife Leona Callicutt Overton; his daughter Ester Frances Overton; and his siblings, Delbert Overton, Jesse Overton, Franklin Overton, Lacy Overton, Effie Haddock, Nettie Bell Overton and Elgie May.
He is survived by: his daughters, Doris Irenhour (Ike) of Cosby, TN and Mae York (Larry) of Staley, NC; his siblings, Minnie Hopkins of Asheboro and Clyde Overton of Moyock, NC; his grandchildren, Tammy White (Doug) of Asheboro and Tony York (Melissa) of Liberty; his great grandchildren, Hayley White (Bradley), Hannah White, Emily York, Andy York and Nicholas York; and his great great grandchild Braxton Hurley.
