She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfred Hinesley and Beulah Gallimore Hinesley; her husband Ernest Wayne Key; her daughters, Pamela Key Perdue and Amanda Key Ragsdale; and her brother Steve Hinesley.

She is survived by: her daughters, Cindy K. Hockett of Randleman and Lynn K. Hayes (Harris) of Asheboro; her grandchildren, Crystal Wise (Mike), Jeana Taylor (William), Greg Hockett (Leslie), Brian Hockett (Leigh-Ann), Alan Garner (Christy) and Ashley Burr (Burt); her siblings, Johnsie Bowman (Cliff) of Randleman and Larry Hinesley (Gail) of Asheboro; and her sister-in-law Jean Hinesley of Randleman. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.
