He was predeceased by: his parents, James Morgan Dezern and Lucy Ray Berry Dezern; and his brother Phillip Dezern. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Lamb Dezern; his daughter Sandy Dezern Hackett (Steve) of Randleman; his grandchildren, Christian Hackett of Prattville, AL and Cameron Hackett (Madison) of Shreveport, LA; and his siblings, Brenda Cox (Johnnie) of McLeansville and Ed Dezern of Greensboro.
