With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ruby Hoover (Asheboro, North Carolina), who passed away on August 13, 2023 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Astor and Dessie Saunders McNeill; her husband Robert Charles Hoover; and her sister Mildred McNeill Boggs. She is survived by: her daughters, Rebekah "Becky" Barnes (Cecil) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Margie Strider of Asheboro and Joy Hoover of Asheboro; her siblings, Dorothy Upton of Seagrove, Clarice Hurley of Asheboro, Norma Jean Smith of Asheboro, James A. "Buddy" McNeill, Jr. (Shirley) of Asheboro and Richard McNeill (Joretta) of Asheboro; her granddaughter Brigette Welton (Paul) of Hickory; and her great grandchildren, Nicholas Welton of Hilton Head, SC and Benjamin Welton of Hickory, NC. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
