He is survived by: his wife Carol Sue Robbins Kearns; his children, Melinda Kearns Jarrell (Lloyd) of Pleasant Garden, Sandy Kearns of Thomasville, Greg Kearns of Asheboro, Clint Lambert, Christopher Hill and Linda Sue Jones; his sisters, Colleen Allen (Charles) of Denton and Carolyn "Lilly" Kearns of Asheboro; his grandchildren, Jamie Robinson, Brandon Robinson, Camryn Kearns, Justin Kearns, Tyler Kearns, Josh Jones, Shalon Caldwell, Adam Lambert and Adam Haithcock; and his great grandchild Ashley Robinson.
