He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Dewitt Byers and Verdia Allen Byers; his former wife Louise Montgomery Byers; his son Roger Brian Byers; and his brothers, Alfred Byers, David Byers and Bruce Byers.
He is survived by: his wife Cordelia Byers; his children, Kathy Allen (Steve) of Ramseur, Anita Millikan (Joey) of Sophia and Jeffery Byers of Asheboro; his stepdaughter Karen Barnes of Asheboro; his grandchildren, Brad Byers of Asheboro, Troy Millikan of Sophia, Ben Millikan of Sophia, Kaylee Woodell (Travis) of Asheboro, Joseph Millikan (Ann) of Sophia, Alisha Fox (Brantly) of Ramseur and Landon Allen (Kacey) of Ramseur; and his great grandchildren, Brian Byers, Sierra Richardson, Justice Boyd, Lexus Byers, Cheyanne Fox, Colton Fox, Paisley Fox, Sophia Millikan, Grayson Millikan, Lynlee Millikan and Liam Millikan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
