He was predeceased by: his daughter Anita Kim Sisk. He is survived by: his parents, William Dalton and Kate Lawson Dalton; his children, Glenda Dalton Brookbank of Greensboro, Lisa Klein (Paul) of Newnan, GA, Joe Dalton of Danville, VA, Joy Dalton of Graham, Maria Dalton of Archdale and Robert "Bobby" Dalton, Jr. (Mandy) of Asheboro; and his former wife Dorothy Dalton Hare of Asheboro. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bailey's Grove Baptist Church, 1556 N. Fayetteville Street, Asheboro, NC 27203.
