She was predeceased by: her husband Edward Donald Powell, Sr.; her parents, Eli Allen and Mishie McNeil Allen; and her siblings, Quentin Allen, Nadine Moffitt, Cloyce Moon, Dorcas Edwards, Stella Craven, Gertie Lee Dark and Daphna Newlin.

She is survived by: her son Edward Donald Powell, Jr. (Angela) of Asheboro; her grandchildren, Parker Ann Powell and Payne Christian Powell; her great grandchild Hadley Anna Powell; and her sister Pattie Craven of Asheboro.
