He was predeceased by: his parents, Eben Cox and Laura Gatlin Cox; and his siblings, Geneva Smith, Beulah Hayes, D. Worth Cox, Howard Cox, Irma Brown and Gilbert Cox.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Edwards Cox; his sister Mildred Brady of Georgia; and his siblings-in-law, Blanche Cox of Seagrove, Sarah Cox of Seagrove, Raeford Brown of Asheboro and Larry Edwards (Debra) of Apex. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
