She was predeceased by: her parents, Purvis Spivey and Ruth Carter Spivey; her husband Elmer Leon Yow; and her siblings, Betty Jordan and Jimmy Spivey.
She is survived by: her children, David Leon Morrison of South Carolina, Jeff Yow of Asheboro, Michele Thompson of Denton and Sherrie Trotter (Rodney) of Asheboro; her sister Louise Walker (Doug) of Greensboro; her grandchildren, Joshua Thompson, Cecily Thompson, Chris Thompson, Shane Trotter, Cameron Trotter and Kathryn Trotter; and her great grandchild Sierra Thompson. She is also survived by her kids, grandchildren and great granddaughter.
