He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Roy Thompson Sr. and Thelma Redding Thompson; his wife Ruby Dougan Thompson; and his son Michael Roy Thompson III. He is survived by: his siblings-in-law, Donald Dougan (Brenda), Mary Bright, Linda Carver and Tim Dougan; his niece Michelle Barfield (Matthew); and his fishing buddies, Johnny Barfield and Barry Chandler (Butch).
