He was predeceased by: his parents, Lacy E. Jones Sr. and Caroline D. Jones. He is survived by: his wife Verlyn T. Jones; his children, Carol Anders of Lumberton, Michael Jones of Asheboro, Angela Jones of Raleigh, Cynthia Rodriguez of Rowland, Allen Jones of Rowland, Leslie Jones of Lumberton and Julia Jones; and his sister Lou Eloise Hewette of Georgia. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and 2 nieces and a host of relatives and friends.
