He was predeceased by: his parents, John Nelson Ogburn, Sr. and Jean Funk Ogburn; and his brother Rev. R. Lynn Ogburn. He is survived by: his wife Edith Walker Junkins; his granddaughter Mary; his children, John Nelson Ogburn, III (Martha) of Asheboro, Timothy Martin Ogburn (Amanda) of Anderson, Indiana and Anne Walker Ogburn Ladd (Michael) of Huntersville; his grandchildren, Mary Walker Ogburn Hillery (Ryan) of Huntington, Claire Elizabeth Ogburn of Brooklyn and Davis Walker Ladd of Huntersville; and his sisters-in-law, Jane Martin Childs (Ted) of Clarkesville, Georgia, Charlene Martin of Sandy Run and Kay Chandler Ogburn of Mooresville. He is also survived by six nieces and nephews.
