He was predeceased by: his parents, John White and Ethel Allen White; his daughter Shirley Adams; his brother Leroy White; and his stepchildren, Charlie Wayne Coggins and Anita Bunton.

He is survived by: his wife Irene Davis White; his sons, Gary Lee White (Pat) of Columbia, SC and David White (Karen) of Thomasville; his stepson Eddie Dean Coggins (Shirley) of Liberty; and his sister Mildred Russell of Asheboro. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
