He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ray and Leone Watson Thomas; his siblings, William Thomas, Mac Thomas, Jack Thomas and Azale Sites; his daughter Debbie; his stepchildren, Benny Fox, Michael Fox and Margold Fox; and his granddaughter Kristina Jarrell.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Jones Thomas; his children, Mevelyn Williams (Mike) of Summerville, SC, Marilynn Willis (Jim) of Supply, NC, Samuel Fox (Vicki) of North Pole, AK, Gail Allred (Larry) of Ramseur and Bob Thomas (Deborah) of Asheboro; and his sister-in-law Grace Thomas of Stanfield, NC. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
