He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Dowd, Sr. and Edith Frazier Dowd; his wife Doris Miller Dowd; and his sister Jane McDowell. He is survived by: his sons, Bryan Dowd (Libby) of Florence, SC and Ben Dowd (Wendy); and his sister Carolyn Greene (Pervis) of Asheboro, NC. He is also survived by three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
