She was predeceased by: her parents, William Samuel Emery and Lena Mae Thurman Emery. She is survived by: her husband Jerold Ashworth; her children, Janice Sonya Smith (H. L. Smith, III) of Asheboro and James Patrick Lambe of Asheboro; her sister Audrey Walker of Asheboro; her grandchildren, Dayvid Misner, Taylor C. Smith and H. Alex Smith; and her great grandchild Nova Misner.
