With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Byrd Sr. of Asheboro, North Carolina, who passed away on November 30, 2021 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his former wife Patricia A. Byrd; his parents, William Byrd and Pauline Barnes Byrd; his brothers, Steve Byrd and William Bennett Byrd, Jr.; his uncle Curtis Barnes; and his daughter Teresa Bates.
He is survived by: his wife Gladys Byrd; his children, Angelia St. Germain (Brandon), Jennifer Gillelan (James F. II), Alice Pawlik (Rob), James O. Byrd, Jr. (Lea) and Johnny King (Patty); his grandchildren, Christopher, Cayla, James O. III, Mara, Alexis, Katie, Helen, Stephaine, James F. III, Michael, Noah and Luke; and his great grandchild Evan.
