He is survived by: his wife Sharon Hockett Thornton; his son Phillip Thornton of Randleman; his stepdaughters, Paige Phillips (Chris) of Asheboro and Jordan Ramsey (Taylor) of Denver, Colorado.; his sister Teri Lowinger of Delaware; and his granddaughters, Audrey, Ava, Addison and Alyssa.
