He was predeceased by: his daughter Victoria Lee Thomas; his parents, Duard Hervey Thomas and Bertie Horner Thomas; his stepmother Virginia Harris Thomas; his brother Paul Thomas; his stepsister Judy Gatlin; and his brother-in-law Charles Gamel.
He is survived by: his siblings, Mildred Gamel of Powder Springs, GA and Robert (Sandra Thomas) of Ramseur, NC; his sister-in-law Sandra Thomas of Asheboro, NC; his brother Carl Mulholland of Asheboro, NC; and his brother-in-law Freddie Gatlin of Asheboro, NC. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
