He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Raymond and Durcy Grace Perry Funk; and his granddaughter Sheena Ann. He is survived by: his wife Shirley T. Funk; his children, Deborah F. Hughes (Roger) of Asheboro, Lisa F. Caviness (Ward) of Robbins, NC, Johnny Elwood Funk of Ramseur and Thomas Wayne Funk (Reta) of Asheboro; his sister Norma Carol Shaw of Galax, VA; his grandson Derek Wayne Funk (Brittney); his great grandchildren, Randi and Ryleigh; his grandsons, Brandon Hughes (Sigal Govrin) and Dillon Caviness (Makenzie Edwards); his great grandchild Easton; his grandchildren, Jonah Caviness (Chesney) and Heather Joyce; and his great grandchild Cayden.
