It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Doris Parks Hughes of Asheboro, North Carolina, born in Galax, Virginia, who passed away on January 12, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lloyd Parks and Thelma Leonard Parks; her husband Joseph Hughes; her daughters, Jackie Loflin and Sharon Sides; and her siblings, Betty Parks Easter, Christine Parks Simmons and Bob Parks.
She is survived by: her daughters, Annette Nash (Scott) of Asheboro and Jeanne Swaney (Jimmy) of Asheboro; her brother Gray Parks of Springfield, VA; and her grandchildren, Michele Loflin-Uhl, Davey Loflin, Regina Shaw, Clark Sides, Megan Gribble and Sarah Johnston. She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren.
