He is survived by: his children, Teresa Byrd (Rex Auman) of Seagrove and Carl Byrd of Asheboro; his brothers, Maxton Byrd of Asheboro, Darrell "Bill" Byrd of Asheboro and Thomas Hilton "Pete" Byrd of Asheboro; his grandchildren, Kyna Gunter (John), Derrick Richardson (Kristin) and Heather Byrd; his great grandchildren, Ryan Leonard, Dylan Leonard, Mia Leonard, Pierce Leonard, Aubrey McCaskill, Karley McCaskill, Wyatt Richardson and Johnsie Richardson; his great great grandchild Rylinn Leonard; and his pet Susie.
