He is survived by: his wife Angela Wright Hartsell; his daughters, Meredith Hartsell and Mariah Hartsell; his son-in-law Corey Hogan; his son Mason Hartsell (Hope) of Zebulon; his parents, Charles Hugh "Rusty" and Frieda Ball Hartsell of Asheboro; his brother Mark Hartsell (Teresa) of Concord; his mother-in-law Margie Burr Wright of Asheboro; his siblings-in-law, Roy, Pam Wright, Darin and Kim Smith; his aunt Sandy Webb; his nieces and nephews, Amanda Miljenovic (Jared), Kaitlyn Newman (James), Coty Hartsell, Marcus Hartsell (Catherine), Tucker Hartsell, Tanner Smith, Curtis Smith and Preston Wright; his great-nieces, Jersey Miljenovic and Maria Ramirez-Tellez; his great-nephew Reid Hartsell; his cousins, Bart, Grant (Tina), Belinda (Todd), Nicholas, Jake (Jessi), Addison, Madelyn, Ella, Lauren, Lacey and Landree; and his friend Cindy Dodson.
