It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Benny Welch of Asheboro, North Carolina, born in Charleston, West Virginia, who passed away on August 15, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Arthur Welch, Jr. and Myrtle Mae Harless Welch; his wife Brenda Welch; his brother Charles W. Welch; his sister-in-law Sue Welch; and his nephew Tony Welch.
He is survived by: his children, Stephanie Welch Jarrell (Barrett) of Asheboro and Benjamin Edward Welch (Leslie) of Tuscaloosa, AL; his grandchildren, Ali Elaine Lynch (Dallas) of Liberty, NC, Abi Nelms Vences (Layo) of Asheboro, Ami Nelms-Degollado (Jorge) of Asheboro, Garrett Welch of Tuscaloosa, AL, Anna Welch of Tuscaloosa, AL and Ellie Welch of Tuscaloosa, AL; his nephew Troy Welch; and his caregiver Brenda Escher. He is also survived by five great grandchildren.
