She was predeceased by: her husband John Alvin McDowell; her parents, David Leonard Loflin and Ethel Smith Loflin; and her siblings, Henry Clay Loflin, Clifford Hoyt Loflin, Robert Leonard Loflin and Cleo Loflin Munn.
She is survived by: her sons, John Larry McDowell (Glenda) of Asheboro and David Lenvil McDowell (Bobbi) of Asheboro; her grandsons, Jonathon Shane McDowell (Sandy) of Denton and Darren Lee McDowell (Crystal) of Evans, GA; her stepgranddaughter Mary Beth Sillmon of Ramseur; and her great grandchildren, John Cole McDowell, David Luke McDowell, Addison Rebecca McDowell and Anna Grace McDowell.
