She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Rumley "Rum" Nelson and Agnes Benton Nelson; her husband Ernest "Monroe" Smith; and her son Kevin Smith. She is also survived by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
