He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Carlisle and Emma Turbeville Carlisle; his son James Thomas Carlyle; and his siblings, John Carlisle, Roy Carlisle, Alton Carlisle, David Carlisle and Libby Cartrette.
He is survived by: his wife Elfleta Ward Carlyle; his children, John Francis Carlyle (Charlotte) of Johns Creek, GA, Brian Keith Carlyle (Tabatha) of Jacksonville, FL and Kathleen Mills (Eldred) of Jacksonville, FL; his siblings, Ashley Carlisle of Tabor City, NC, Shelton Carlisle of Jacksonville, FL, Ray Carlisle of Tabor City, NC, James Carlisle of Tabor City, NC, Truman Carlisle of Tabor City, NC, Vickie Sue Hardee of Tabor City, NC and Britty Ann Butler of Tabor City, NC; his grandchildren, Corey Carlyle (Chelsea), Connor Carlyle, Cameron Carlyle (Cheyenne) and Joshua Carlyle; his great grandchild Blake Carlyle; his stepson Greg Inman (Linda) of Ash, NC; his stepgrandson Brandon Inman; and his close friend Wilbur Babson.
