He was predeceased by: his father Ernest Stokes Etheridge; and his sister Annette Anderson of Charleston, SC. He is survived by: his mother Mabel Infinger Hughes of Shallotte, NC; his wife Shelly Benton Etheridge; his children, Zachary White (Amanda) of Gallivants Ferry, SC and Carly Carr (Ryan); his grandson Benton Alan Carr of Shallotte, NC.; his siblings, Linda Etheridge of Vero Beach, FL and Jerry Etheridge of Barnwell, SC; and his sister-in-law Gail Hughes of Centerville, OH.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and great nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Longwood Baptist Church (2530 Longwood Rd NW, Ash, NC 28452). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers the family would be honored by donations to Longwood Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 118, Longwood, NC 28452 or Gideons International Bible Fund, PO Box 834, Shallotte, NC 28459 in Doug's memory.
