As Bernice departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Bernice. Though Bernice may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Alton Grimsley and Lillie Fipps Grimsley; her husband Lee Grant Ray; and her children, Judy Ray, Dailon Ray and Chris Ray.
She is survived by: her children, Shelia Roberts of Tabor City, NC, Diane Fowler (Vernie) of Tabor City, NC, Brenda Herring (Steve) of Tabor City, NC, Davey Ray (Donna) of Tabor City, NC and Dickie Ray (Grace) of Loris, SC. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one sister; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Myrtle Green Cemetery (11319 Old Stake Rd, Tabor City, NC 28463).
