She was predeceased by: her parents, John Zebulon Thorpe and Ann "Annie" Phipps Thorpe; her husband George Herman Owenby; her sons, Steve Thorpe and Kenneth "Buster" Owenby; her siblings, James Thorpe, Charles Thorpe, Estelle Moore, Mary Goforth, Elizabeth Garrison, Margaret Hall and Eva Radford; and her granddaughter Catina Morgan.
She is survived by: her brother Carl Thorpe; and her children, Jane "Kathy" Morgan (Tony) and Lewis Owenby (Carolyn). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren plus one on the way; 5 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
