He was predeceased by: his wife Louise Baumgartner Hunter; and his parents, James Howard Hunter and Helen Crook Hunter of Fletcher, NC.. He is survived by: his daughter Anita Satterfield (Glenn) of Enka; his granddaughters, Michelle Jarecki (Sean) of Southern Pines, Madison Ruth Ing (Alex) of Arden, Caitlin Satterfield of Candler and Lauren Satterfield of Enka; and his great grandchild Hadley Hipps.
Due to Covid 19 Groce Chapel services are limited to 50 people.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his honor to Mountain Care Adult Day Care of Buncombe County.
