He was predeceased by: his former wife Jean Barbara Jakubowski (Bartoszek) of Asheville; and his siblings, Mitchell, Regina Szymona, Helen Dzvileski and Genevieve Jakubowski.
He is survived by: his children, Eileen Sitnik of Apex, NC, Linda Paczan of Austin, TX and Wayne Jakubowski of Norfolk, VA.; his grandchildren, Lauren Sitnik, Julie Sitnik, Holly Paczan, Nathan Paczan, Taylor Cady and Casey Bernhards; and his great grandchildren, Riggins, Leila, Owen, Eliza, Braden and Elliott.
