It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruby Alline Penland Austin (Arden, North Carolina), who passed away on July 1, 2022, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Pat Penland and Daisy Penland; and her son Herschel Eddie Austin. She is survived by: her children, Joseph Austin (Debbie), Patricia Chastain (Larry), Joyce Watts and Linda Raines (Chuck); her grandchildren, Chris Chastain, Crystal Letterman (Mark), Rachael Austin (Jason), Angela Clark (Sam), Austin Raines, Caroleen Crowe and Craig Raines; and her great grandchildren, Eden, Landon, Elijah and Isaac.
