He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Gantt and Ionia Banks Gantt; and his brothers, Ray Gantt and Bruce Gantt. He is survived by: his sisters, Marie Hyatt (Randy) and Peggy Carver (Julian). He is also survived by two nieces and five nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014.
