He was predeceased by: his parents, Mack Daniel Pate and Edna Gardner Pate; and his wife Judy Worley Pate of Canton, NC.. He is survived by: his daughters, Janet Lyles of Swannanoa and Tamra Gilbert (Darren) of Swannanoa; his grandchildren, Terry Pate of Black Mountain and Cameron Lyles; his great grandchild Tyven Lyles of Burnsville, NC; his sister June Pate Watkins of Fletcher; and his niece Tina Robinson (Steve) of Black Mountain.
