Florence Owenby Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Florence Owenby of Arden, North Carolina, who passed away on February 19, 2021 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard Carmon and Elda Haynes Allen; her husband Chester Millard Owenby, Sr.; her son Carmon Franklin Owenby; her son-in-law Charles Dumas; and her siblings, Clara Peeler, Rubena Frizsell, Ozella Warner and Thurman Allen.

She is survived by: her children, Chester Millard Owenby, Jr. (Margaret), Jerry Voyd Owenby, Ronald Wayne Owenby (Diana), Elaine Owenby Dumas, Linda Owenby and Clara Owenby Sweet (Jeff); her daughter-in-law Cherolyn Owenby; her siblings, Lelia McAbee and Bernard Allen; and her sister-in-law Evelyn Cannon. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren; twenty seven great-grandchildren; one great, great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
