She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Van and Mildred Cagle Royals; and her brother Michael "Mike" Royals. She is survived by: her husband Sherman Frazier Staton; her daughter Sherri Staton (David McCuen) of Archdale; her sister-in-law Mary Ann Boone (Kit) of Greensboro; her nephews, Brandon Royals, Robert Royals, Matt Boone (Kristen) and Adam Boone (Melissa); and her niece Jenny Depp (Matt).
