He was predeceased by: his parents, Newton Grant and Ada Grant of Greensboro, NC.; his wife Velma Grant; his sister Colleen Wiggins; and his stepson Todd Taylor.

He is survived by: his siblings, Roy Grant and Marion Lindsey; his stepdaughter Vickie Griffin; his nieces and nephews, Shannon Grant Durrett, Dr. Julie Lindsey, Chad Grant, Jamie Wiggins and David Wiggins; and his close friend Celeste Stanley.
