She was predeceased by: her father Thurman Nelson; her husband John Franklin McKinnon; and her siblings, Helen Nelson, William Nelson and Jonie "Neil" Nelson.
She is survived by: her children, Terry Younts (Debi) of Statesville, Gary Younts (Melanie) of Bolivia, Johnna Safriet (Charlie) of Archdale, Teresa Proctor (William Ocasio) of Archdale and Kristie Driggers (Perry) of High Point; and her grandchildren, Amanda, Jamie, Jeremy, Jason, Brittany, Madison, MacKenzie, Mason, Heather, Gary and Keri. She is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren.
