He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph L. Coltrane and Eva Jones Coltrane; his wife Mary Evelyn Wright; and his siblings, Joyce Smith and Gene Coltrane.
He is survived by: his brothers, Horace and Richard; his sons, Joseph Clark Coltrane (Denise) of Archdale, Michael Coltrane (Kathy) of Lexington, Gregory Lee Coltrane (Pam) of Auburn, AL and Joel Scott Coltrane of Bluffton, SC; and his sister Becky Coltrane of Archdale. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
