He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence "Nick" Velmer and Ila Leunia Taylor McMahan; his wife Wanda Carol Grant McMahan; and his siblings, Robert, Billy Jo, Leroy McMahan, MaeBelle Hogue and Wilma Mize.
He is survived by: his children, Keith McMahan of Kernersville and Kimberely McMahan of Archdale; his grandson Nickolas McMahan (Cassie); his close friend Ace; and his siblings, Daisy Grant, Sam McMahan (Rose) and Glenda Knul. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or to Brenners Children's Hospital, 1 Medical Center Boulevard, Winston-Salem, NC 27157.
