He was predeceased by: his parents, James Marshall and Ruby Hazel Fountain Lanier. He is survived by: his wife Betty Ann Hardin Lanier; his sons, Randy Lanier (Tina) and Rodney Lanier; his grandson Jock Ramsey Lanier; his great grandchildren, Kherington of Archdale and Eleck Parker of Archdale; and his sister Lillian Kennedy of High Point.
