He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Raymond Powers Sr. and Juanita Porter Powers; his wife Judy Hall; his son Raymond Jeffrey Powers (Christy) of Archdale; his grandsons, Cory Lee Embler of St. Augustine and Jeffrey Gage Powers of Archdale; his great grandchild Carver Ace Embler of St. Augustine, Florida; his cousin Joe Don Hayes; and his stepfather Raymond Myers. He was also cherished by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a memorial service will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Dr. High Point, N.C. 27262.
