He is survived by: his wife Jean Lamb Smith; his children, David "Bo" Smith of Archdale and Gloria Green (Bryan) of Washington; his stepson Chris Gregory of Archdale; and his sisters, Linda Smith, Karen Sue Thompson, Dee Meadows and Lisa Bell. He is also survived by four grandchildren.
