He is survived by: his brother Russell Smith; his wife Mae Koonts Smith; his children, Misty Donathan (Craig) of Archdale, Scott Smith and Chris Smith (Amanda) of Archdale; his grandchildren, Bryan Hines (Michelle), Kaitlyn Sprague (Janine), Mackenzie Helsabeck, Courtney Gallimore (Dustin), Brittany McManus (Joseph), Bailey Johnson, Rylan Smith, Halle Smith, Nolan Smith, Peyton Smith Hunter Smith (Sarah), Hannah Smith and Maddie Smith; his stepchildren, Emery Lockwood and Kaleb Lockwood; and his great grandchildren, Hayley Gallimore, Collins McManus, Lorelai and Annistyn Sprague.
