He was predeceased by: his parents, Royce Phillip and Flora Inez Hall Askew; and his brother Larry Askew. He is survived by: his wife Rae Metzler Askew; his children, Donna Askew Ballas (John) of Cornelius and Norman R. Askew (Denise) of Trinity; his grandchildren, Jared Askew (Rebecca) of Winston-Salem, Seth Askew of Trinity and Mariah Askew of Seattle, Washington; his siblings, Janice Brazeal of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Don Askew (Von) of Dothan and Albert Askew (Sandra) of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; and his sister-in-law Seretha Askew of Cottonwood, Alabama. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
