He was predeceased by: his parent Gilmer Lee Flippin, Sr.; and his siblings, Robert Ray Flippin and Karen Jane Flippin Elliott. He is survived by: his wife Sara Jane Spencer Flippin; his daughter Angie Lee Cobbler of Winston-Salem; his granddaughters, Ashley Cobbler (Daniel) and Adora Gonzalez; his great grandchildren, Chloe and Mason; his stepdaughter Lisa Maines; and his mother Judy Flippin of Winston-Salem. He is also survived by extended family and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or the Deaf Light Ministries, 740 Bethesda Road SW, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
